Among them, polyethylene (PE) pipes are widely used in building water supply, building drainage, buried drainage pipes, building heating, gas transmission pipes, electrical and telecommunication protection casings, industrial pipes, agricultural pipes, etc. due to their unique advantages. . It is mainly used in urban water supply, urban gas supply and farmland irrigation.

In the northern part of my country, when the polyethylene buried water supply is laid in the field in winter, it is concluded that it is not suitable for laying construction under zero temperature, because the polyethylene pipe is easy to be brittle and cracked. The wear resistance comparison experiment of polyethylene pipe and steel pipe shows that its wear resistance is 4 times that of steel pipe. PE pipe has good toughness and flexibility. PE pipe is a kind of high-toughness pipe, its elongation at break exceeds 500%, it has strong adaptability to the uneven settlement and dislocation of the pipe foundation, and has good seismic resistance. It is confirmed that the PE pipe is a pipe with good shock resistance. There is a saying that in the Kobe earthquake in Japan in 1995, PE pipes and water supply pipes were the only pipes that were not damaged. In addition, the flexibility of the PVC transparent pipe production line enables the PE pipe to be coiled, reducing a large number of connecting pipe fittings. The direction of the PE pipe can be easily changed according to the requirements of the construction method. During construction, obstacles can be bypassed within the allowed bending radius of the pipe, reducing the difficulty of construction. There are still large gaps in various special resins required for plastic pipes. Although the output of PE and PP resins in my country is large, they are suitable for pipes. There is not much resin, especially suitable for urban water supply.

Since the 1990s, my country's synthetic resin industry has developed vigorously, and the output and consumption have maintained a good growth momentum. At present, my country's synthetic resin raw PE water supply pipe production capacity has reached 10 million tons, ranking the top five in the world after the United States, Japan, Germany and South Korea.

Polyethylene is a non-inert material. Except for a small amount of strong oxidants, it is resistant to various chemicals and is not easy to breed bacteria. As we all know, the reason why steel pipes and cast iron pipes are replaced by plastic pipes is not only because plastic pipes have lower energy consumption for water delivery, lower living energy consumption, light weight, small water flow resistance, simple and rapid installation, low cost, long life and thermal insulation function. etc., but also because the performance of plastic pipes is better than steel pipes and cast iron pipes because of their corrosion resistance and not easy to breed microorganisms.
